Fundación Luksic launched the “Participatory Methodologies” platform, a tool that provides methodologies, learnings, and success stories to help public and private organizations incorporate the voices of communities into their initiatives. The launch brought together more than 50 representatives from the municipal, academic, social, and private sectors.

Fundación Luksic launched Participatory Methodologies in Action, a new digital platform designed to promote citizen participation in social projects and provide public and private organizations with concrete tools to strengthen the voice of communities in defining their own challenges.

The platform was presented on Tuesday, September 9, bringing together more than 50 representatives from municipalities, public and private organizations, and universities, who reflected on and put into practice the importance of involving people in building the solutions that impact their daily lives.

Macarena Cea, CEO of Fundación Luksic, stated:“Our purpose at the Foundation is to empower people so they can contribute to Chile’s development. We trust those who live in the country, and that’s why we are convinced that social projects must be built with communities, considering their experience and their voice. With this platform, we want to share our practices and make them available to public and private organizations, with the goal of ensuring that people and their communities are the true protagonists of their own development.”

From the municipal sphere, the initiative was widely praised. Jaime Escudero, Mayor of Pirque and President of the Association of Rural Municipalities, commented: “Today I can’t imagine management or territorial planning without citizen participation. We may have great ideas, but it’s the people in the territory who truly know what they want and need.”

In the same vein, Gustavo Alessandri, President of the Chilean Association of Municipalities and Mayor of Zapallar, highlighted: “We want to thank Fundación Luksic for this public–private collaboration, which is by far the most important thing for a country and for development, and especially for citizen participation. Because in this way, as authorities, we can understand, value, and recognize the social needs and perspectives of a community—regardless of location—and move forward together.”

Through the tools available on the website, Fundación Luksic seeks to support the recognition of people’s experiences, the design of solutions with and from the community, and the creation of more effective interventions.
